Addition and Interior Renovations Smith Turf and Irrigation

The Project : Edgewater worked closely with the owner, Mark Rodriguez, to develop a new efficient retail space layout to meet all the City’s code requirements in order to obtain a building permit and schedule to meet a hard opening date.

Safety was paramount as all demolition and reconstruction work was completed during normal retail working hours in a busy customer service area.

Edgewater demoed the existing walls; removed existing bathroom fixtures and capped unused piping before installing new walls, doors and frames, sinks and piping, acoustical ceiling system and new ADA compliant restroom. The renovation included removing the worn VCT flooring and installing new flooring. Edgewater fabricated and installed new customer service counter tops with counter access control doors. The project required penetrating the existing metal building to install new side entrance door; constructing a new repair shop area with 24’ walls (to deck) and installing new high bay lights and radiant heating. The project was finished with new paint, overall.

The Challenge : Working in and around customers and staff in this active retail and repair shop.

Value Added : Edgewater crafted a safety program and schedule to overcome the challenges that could arise when demolishing, renovating and constructing in an occupied retail space.
