Jim is the President of Edgewater and started the company in 2006.
Jim Collins, a licensed civil engineer, has over 25 years of experience. Active duty in the US Navy prepared Jim to excel in vertical construction operations, estimating, project management, and contract administration around world for the Seabees and the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps. Jim retired from Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) where he gained construction experience from an owners’ point of view as a contracting officer. His vast experience prepared him to drive military construction projects through conceptual, design, and construction phases.

Rich Marano is a civil engineering graduate of the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology who combined his degree in construction technology and took a different path, moving directly into the construction field. His career has upwardly traversed from assistant project manager to project manager to Vice President of Edgewater Construction Services in 2006. Rich’s resume shows achievements in Virginia, New York, New Jersey, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Connecticut, Maine and Vermont in design-bid-build, design-build, construction management and general contracting. His experience in facility renovations and additions and new construction reached its highest point when Rich was assigned as Senior Project Manager for the Armada Hoffler Tower in Virginia Beach. This $86M project spanned 2 years and 13 floors (255,000 sq. ft.) of Class A office space, 300,000 sq. ft. of retail space and an adjoining a 22 floor 9 level cast-in-place parking garage with 1871 stalls.
