Medical
Project Manager:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience with commercial/government contracting
  • Develop and maintain project and submittal schedules; conduct Owner progress meetings, process contracts to subcontractors, proposals to Owner, coordinate work activities/schedule of subcontractors and suppliers, administratively supervise Superintendent.
  • Negotiate work and select bidders list
  • Knowledge of local market a plus
  • Possess developed computer skills and proficient in Microsoft Office programs
  • Detail oriented and team player

Estimators:

  • Minimum 5-7 years of experience with estimating commercial/government contracting.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects.
  • Possess ability to clearly communicate with owners and subcontractors.
  • Ability to build hard bid and negotiated estimates.
  • Proficient in Excel and skilled in Microsoft Office programs.
  • Knowledge of the local market and subcontractor resources a plus.

Superintendents:

  • At least 5-7 years of experience constructing commercial/government projects.
  • Ability to monitor job costs and manpower resources to maintain cost controls
  • Knowledge of the local market and subcontractor resources a plus
  • Working knowledge of computers and software a plus

Jim is the President of Edgewater and started the company in 2006.
Background:
Jim Collins, a licensed civil engineer, has over 25 years of experience. Active duty in the US Navy prepared Jim to excel in vertical construction operations, estimating, project management, and contract administration around world for the Seabees and the Navy’s Civil Engineer Corps. Jim retired from Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) where he gained construction experience from an owners’ point of view as a contracting officer. His vast experience prepared him to drive military construction projects through conceptual, design, and construction phases.

Background:
Rich Marano is a civil engineering graduate of the prestigious Rochester Institute of Technology who took a different path than the typical engineering student, moving directly into the construction field. His career has upwardly traversed from assistant project manager to project manager to Vice President of Edgewater Construction Services in 2006. Rich’s resume shows achievements in Virginia, New York, New Jersey, West Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Connecticut, Maine and Vermont in design-bid-build, design-build, construction management and general contracting. His experience in facility renovations and additions and new from the ground up construction in varying values hit its highest point when Rich was assigned as Senior Project Manager for the Armada Hoffler Tower in Virginia Beach. This $86M project spanned 2 years and 13 floors (255,000 sq. ft.) of Class A office space, 300,000 sq. ft. of retail space and an adjoining a 22 floor 9 level cast-in-place parking garage with 1871 stalls.
